Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a rumbling sound inside both of my ears. I do have some sinus drainage going on. Would that sound in my ears be the eardrum releasing fluid? I had a Pharmacist tell me it was a long time ago when i had it before. Just want to ask to see what you thought. Thank you
As per your complain rumbling inside the ear seems to be most probably due to fluid accumulation behind the eardrum and blocked eustachian tube.. It can occur after a bout of cold or sinusdrainage as the ear and throat are connected via Eustachian tube ..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, MRI, otoscopy etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics, oral as well as nasal decongestants likeXylometazoline nasal sprays. Along with it steam inhalation and chewing chewing gum can help.. In case of no improvement in 15 days surgical drainage by making a small incision through the eardrum can help..
Hope this information helps..
Regards.
