What Causes Rise In Body Temperature Post Intake Of Unwanted 72?

Hello Doctor, I read different questions down there, seems like even I have similar problem. Me and My husband Had unprotected intercourse on 7th day of my monthly cycle,later we took precaution, and we don t whether he did ejaculate or not, but for safer side I took Unwanted 72 that too for first time within 12 to 15 hrs of sex. And immediately the next morng I had this server pain at the end of Urination and I have also spiked up my temperature along with body.. Shall I take a paracetamol and settle it down or should I go for a consult ? Thank You.

Hi,

I understand your concern.

1. If you have taken Unwanted 72 pill up to 15 hours after having unprotected sex, then, no fear for unwanted pregnancy.

2. The high temperatures you had was a reaction due to hormonal changes as the pill contains synthetic hormones.

3. With regards to severe pain at the end of urination, it is due to possible infection. Unprotected sex is commonly associated with urinary tract infection ( UTI ).

Next time you have unprotected sex, try to get cleaned after sex and to go to bathroom in order to avoid infection.

For the moment, I advise to :
- keep a good local hygiene
- drink plenty of fluids
- take urine alkalinizers
- can take a deep stick home test of urine. If infection, then can discuss this with your doctor as you might need prescription antibiotics.
