What Causes Rise In Blood Pressure After Delivering A Baby?
It is now a week since my niece had her baby. Coming to the end of her pregnancy, her blood pressure became very high-was put on bed rest. Now that the baby is born she is experiencing problem in the one eye. Is that an immediate concern; or will this problem go away soon?

hi
that is pregnancy induced hypertension
it can start with early or late pregnancy which should be treated with antihypertensives safer in pregnancy.
most of the times it comes back to normal after the delivery of the baby.
very rarely it gets continued as hypertension in some patients
eye changes can be related to this due to any variation in the retinal artery / vein blood vessels, please check out with the ophthalmologist
take care
