What Causes Redness In The Eye?

I left my contacts in over night last night and this morning I woke up with one of my eyes red and was hoping it would go away throughout the day but the redness only went away a little and I was wondering if that is normal or if something could be wrong with it? The eye itself does not hurt.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The redness would be due to irritation of the eye from the contacts.

It would take a day or longer for it to resolve. You may need to have it assessed to make sure an infection is not present, if there is minimal change after 24 to 36 hours or there are worsening symptoms.

If this is the case, antibiotic or anti inflammatory drops may be needed.

I hope this helps
