What Causes Redness And Swelling On The Navel?
What causes a belly button to become swollen and red? I was born with a “outie” belly button.I went for a run and was sore for a couple of days.I then noticed my belly button was swollen. Days later the swelling went down but it’s harder to the touch. What’s happening?

As per your case history of redness on navel, my treatment advice is:
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like Fusiderm-B cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
