What Causes Redness And Swelling Inside The Lower Eyelid?
I woke up yesterday and the muscle around my left eye (on the side nearest to my ear mostly on the bottom of eyelid) hurt. today i noticed some redness and it was a bit swollen, and i found when i dabbed the red area on the inside of my eyelid that there was a bit of blood. i m wondering what this could be and if it s a sty or some sort of eye disease or just something relatively innocuous. thank you.
Symptoms which you have mentioned suggest that you have got sty in your eye lid. It is a common infection in eye lids. It is a non serious condition. It heals well with a course of antibiotics (amoxacillin) and pain killers (ibuprofen). In rare case it may lead to complication like distortion of eye lashes arrangement(rare! ). You can visit a general physician or eye specialist (if available) for better assessment of condition and treatment.
Till than don't massage it frequently as it may spread the infection.
I hope i have answered your queries. I would love to reply follow up queries. Kindly rate my reply. Thank you. I wish you good health.
