What Causes Red Pus Oozing Blister On The Hip?

hi My daughter has a kind of wart looking, big and red thing on her hip. At the begining it was bumpy and the color was like the skin. she had it for a long time. Then it started to grow bigger and now around it it is red and it is oozing.it looks like it is opening up. what could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It sounds as though it is infected.

This would cause it to ooze and would also cause a red appearance and increase in size.

She may need to see her doctor for assessment. It is possible that a topical antiseptic cleaning at least twice daily and the use of a topical antibiotic may be enough, but her doctor may also suggest oral antibiotics along with this.

If it is painful the use of a NSAID such as ibuprofen, naproxen or cataflam may help.

I hope this helps
