What Causes Red Itchy Rashes On The Cheeks After Using Sulfacleanse?

Hi! So I already know this isn t a good idea. But a friend of mine receives many bottles of this prescribed facial cleanser called sulfa cleanse. I told her my issues and she said they were similar to hers, so she gave me a bottle. I ve only used it 3 times now, in the past 2 days, but my left cheek is red and my jawline and neck are red and itchy. It s not unbearable, but it s not enjoyable. Is this normal? Should I discontinue use? Or just cut down on the amount of times I use it?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems to be a side effect of sulfa cleanse that contains sulfonamide and sulphur products occassionally cause side effects and you should completely stop the use of the cleanser as continuous use can exaggerate the symptoms.
You can take anti-allergics like Allegra [fexofenadine] or benadryl..
You can apply a steroid ointment over the rashes for reducing inflammation..
Do cool compresses over the rashes..
Avoid sun exposure, scratching the area if there is itching..
You can apply aloevera gel that too cooled for lubrication..
In case of no improvement consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and he can do a proper clinical evaluation and treatment can be done according to diagnosis....
