What Causes Red Itchy Rashes On The Arms, Stomach And Back?

I have had a rash on my right wrist for two weeks now and I began to think it may be poison ivy as I had that many times as a child. Now it has spread to both arms all the way up and on my stomach and back. Red rash, sometimes itches, and white bumps also.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having allergic dermatitis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid using new cosmetic products like perfume, soap and also avoid sun exposure.
2. Apply a mild topical steroid lotion like beclomethasone lotion twice daily on affected skin.
3. Start antihistamine like levocetrizine twice daily.
4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone and oral hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
