Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
While i was on the phone with one of my friends i notice that i had a sharp itch on my upper left thigh. I scratched it thinking it was just a regular mosquito bite and went on with my day, later the itch became more persistent and unpleasant. For 3 days straight i scratch it until it became blood red. Then i left it alone for a day and it became purple, now its a bright red and i dont understand how it still itching. And i havent gone out in a couple weeks so i factor out spiders and other typical animals. Do you have any suggestions?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern. Discussion:- If the itching is not generalized then it could be due to some insect bite if this is generalized then it could be due to hypersensitivity reaction. Medication:- Tab Levocetirizine 10 mg three times or Diphenhydramine lotion can be tried. Advise:- Control the itching. Comments:- In persistence symptoms may need clinical examination. Hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
