What Causes Recurring Stabbing Pain Deep Inside The Left Knee?

My pain is an intermittent stabbing pain on deep inside of my left knee. It stabs about every two minutes. When I was a kid I had an benign osteod osteoma removed in that area. At some point in time I also tore the ligaments in that knee. Could this be a recurrence of either of these? I am 72 and in reasonable good health.

You are had knee surgery infection the past.
So in old age, there is higher possibility of internal knee pathology which is causing this stabbing pain.
So consult orthopedic doctor.
You may also require MRI of knee joint to diagnose the cause for your stabbing pain.
