General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, welcome to HCM.

It is a common problem. When the legs are crossed the blood vessels are compressed, leading to decrease in blood supply to the leg. Crossing the legs also puts pressure on the peroneal nerve. This decrease in blood supply and pressure on the nerve when you cross your legs for a long time can cause tingling and numbness in the leg.

I would recommend to avoid crossing your legs for a long period of time. If the tingling and numbness occurs without crossing your legs, then you will need to see a physician for proper work-up.

I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to ask if you have any other questions. Have a nice day.

Sincerely,
Dr. Waqas Hayat
