What Causes Recurring Pain While Coughing With History Of Gall Bladder Removal?

I have a pain where my liver is. I don t have a gallbladder. The pain has been on and off for months when I bend over, but last night I bent over and the pain has not really gone away. It is like a dull ache now and hurts when I cough. I feel queasy, tired and have had very loose bowl movements the last two days.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Mild pain every now and then is common especially after gall bladder removal, but the dull constant pain along with the loos stool may require some medical attention. Are you on any supplements since the removal of the GB?

Please visit your treating surgeon and request for an ultrasound examination of your abdomen and pelvis as well. I am sure your doctor will be able to help you. In the meantime you can take medication containing loperaminde for relief from your loose stools and probiotics as well.

Best wishes.
