Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Pain In Back And Ribs With Tenderness In Ribcage?
Yesterday morning I had an intense pain hit me toward the middle of my back on the right side, I was able to function but with some difficulty. Within 10 minutes a severe pain hit me again and radiated around under my ribs toward the front of my body, was able to go about my activities with more pain. About an hour and a half later the said pain hit again bringing me to my knees, was unable to stand for at least 5 minutes. Mild nausea occurred. Continued tenderness under rib cage from front to back on the right side. Could this be caused by gall bladder problems?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have recurring pain in back and ribs with tenderness in rib cage . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like nerve injury , pinched or compressed nerve , which may occur due to your disc bulged problem .
But there can be other reasons also like angina , kidney infection or kidney stone . I would suggest you to continue exercises , apply hot compresses on back and take proper rest . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order x-ray , CT scan and MRI .
Doctor may refer you to cardiologist for heart problem or nephrologist for kidney problem . For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
