What Causes Recurring Miscarriages Due To Absence Of Foetal Heart Beat?
My babies heart beat stopped at 8 weeks. This is the second time this year. I am really sad and down. I don t want to go through this again. Can you please advice me how I should avoid it the 3rd time around if I am lucky enough to get pregnant. I did a D&C. What should I do for it not to happen again. Thank you.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Sorry to note about you problem about miscarriages again and again. 60% of miscarriages happen because of chromosomal abnormalities. Other causes include uterine abnormalities and cervical incompetence. To prevent it further, take help from an Obstretician by getting the following tests done: 1. Karyotyping for chromosomal anomalies. 2. Blood for Anti-phospholipid antibodies 3. Ultra sound scan for uterine anomalies But even with above tests, sometimes the exact cause may not be possible to detect. If any abnormality is detected, a counselor can explain what the abnormality is and talk you about the chances of having a healthy pregnancy. All the best.
