Hi,

Recurrent fungal infections in the penis despite using antifungal medications like Tacrolimus or Lullifin can be due to a variety of reasons, including:
* Inadequate treatment duration: Fungal infections can persist even after treatment if the antifungal medication is used for less than the recommended duration.
* Improper hygiene: Poor hygiene can cause reinfection even after treatment.
* Underlying health conditions: Certain underlying health conditions like diabetes, immunosuppression, or HIV/AIDS can increase the risk of recurrent fungal infections.
* Non-compliance with the treatment regimen: Not using the antifungal medication as prescribed or discontinuing the treatment prematurely can lead to recurrent infection.

It's essential to consult your doctor and follow their advice, as they may need to adjust your treatment plan or perform additional tests to determine the cause of your recurrent infection. Sometimes, a combination of antifungal medication and lifestyle modifications may be necessary to prevent future outbreaks.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
