What Causes Recurring Bouts Of Palpitations, Elevated BP And Sweating?

Hi Dr, My relative felt very scare, holding me tightly, high heart rate(130), blood pressure very high(164/90), sweaty heavily on his palms. He said some spirit was after him, this episode last 2-3 hours. After that his heart rate and blood pressure were back to normal, no more sweaty palms. The same incidents happened twice for last 7 days. He didn t take drug or substance, but he has been taking depression drugs for more then 10 years. Look forward to you comment. Thank you. Roger

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It can be simple panic attack to psychiatric illness. If it repeats next time, you may need psychiatric evaluation once. Till then you should get sleep well [8-9 hrs]. Shift his mind, listen to good vibes, connect with nature. Antidepressants can be asked with your physician to shift or check those medicines. Join online 'Art of Living' breathing exercises course, OMBW, researches show it lowers anxieties, fears and panic attack without side effects. It can take away drugs in few weeks if practised.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
