My wife has bleeding in her urine to the point her IM is sending her to the urologist. She has been put on an antibiotic. She has significant low back pain in the kidney area. she says she feels like someone has hit her in the back with a bat. This occurs about every three months. Simple information, but any thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
It might be due to UTI or stones in kidney or urinary tract.
I would recommend, urine routine examination and culture, and KUB x Ray. Based on the report one can decide on the management plan.
Hope this helps.
Take care
