What Causes Recurring IVF Failures?

For experienced ivf specialist Sir/ madam, I am 35 years old and taking medication for hypothyroid for last 05 years. I am planning for a baby for last 6 years. I had a miscarriage in 2012. Since then, I have tried naturally and through IUI, BUT NO SIUCCESS. I had my first IVF done in Dec 2015, but it also failed. I HAD second IVF on June 2016, but again it failed. In the second IVF , 07 EGGS and 03 embroys were formed (01 Grade 1 and 02 Grade 02). My doctor has now stopped all mine IVF medication and planning my 3rd IVF after 03 months.      I need your advice for the following: 1. What is the reason for the failures? And how can I improve my chances in the 3rd IVF. 2. Do I and my husband need to undergo any further investigations? If yes, suggest some doctors/specialists in Mumbai. 3. I am planning to take some auyrvedic medicines from RAMDEV pharmacy for infertility. Should I take them as my 3rd IVF is after 3 months. I am very confused , so plz guide me on this issue. 4. Is my husband semen analysis is good? The current report is attached. 5. Is my age is a issue? 6. I am also getting severe skin rashes (uticeria) whilst taking Pogestrone injections. How to treat it or avoid it for my next IVF. 7. WHAT ARE MY CHANCES? Kindly , give me way ahead. I am very upset , stressed and depressed. Waiting for your guidance. jaya

Hello,

Recurrent implantation failure (RIF) refers to cases in which women have had three failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) attempts with good quality embryos.

The failure of embryo implantation can be a consequence of uterine, male, or embryo factors, or the specific type of IVF protocol. The major reason why an IVF cycle is not successful is embryo quality.

Many embryos are not able to implant after transfer to the uterus because they are flawed in some way. Even embryos that look good in the lab may have defects that cause them to die instead of growing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
