What Causes Recurrent Vaginal Yeast Infections?

Hi I have a problem, after the past year and changing my pill i have had a few yeast infections. I went to the doctor who did a test and there wasn t anything bad, i was treated and it cleared up. At the time of the last yeast infection, everything felt very swollen inside my vulva. It feels like there is a large lump at the top of the entrance to my vulva... after the medication it seemed like it went away, however i have felt it again now. It was sore after intercourse as well and feels like it slightly protrudes. My GP said it was nothing abnormal, however it is abnormal as it wasn t there before, not even after the birth of my first child. Any assistance is appreciated!!

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Feeling of something protruding out of the vaginal canal may be the first sign of prolapse.

I suggest you consult a gynecologist for a complete pelvic examination.

Protrusion of genital organs from vaginal opening can occur due to laxity of pelvic muscles after giving birth.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
