What Causes Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections?

I have been incontinent for about 6 months now and keep getting reaccuring symptoms of like UTIs . I have been put on antibiotics 3 times now, it seems to help for a few days then it s back. I have also noticed the pain is worse when I need to have a bowel movement. I also have very little energy and am very sore and achy everywhere. I also have bad shaking with my left arm and hand and sometimes in my core, and in my voice. Pain in my right lower back and front groin area. I am 62yrs old, overweight and I had an massive heart attack around 13yrs ago and endometrial cancer 4yrs ago. I am still cancer free but the chemo and radiation took a lot out of me and caused a lot of things to change. I just want to feel better and know what is going on, especially with the shaking and incontinence.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you have a history of endometrial cancer & on chemo, chemo causes side effects like soreness & swelling. You can take control of it by cutting on your salt intake but supplement it with sodium & magnesium, take ORS, soups & juices.

Maintain a low BMI. For shaking, get clinically examined by a Neurologist, get Nerve conduction tests done. You may need medicines & supplements. To get rid of recurrent UTI infections, take more alkaline food. Stay well hydrated. Do not use public washrooms.

However, continue to take the medicines you have been prescribed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
