What Causes Recurrent Sore Itchy Bumps Leaving Dark Spots?

I have a few bumps on my side. It starts off slightly sore to the touch and then itch little all on a scale of 5 (on 10 scale being the most irritating). The bump stays for a few days and then fades away leaving a dark spot. I have had this happen before but they turn into long skin tags.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurrent sore itchy bumps leaving dark spots. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like dermatitis, dry skin, eczema, heat rash or sweat dermatitis. Need not to worry. It is important to wear lose comfortable footwear and socks ,maintain good personal hygiene. Use a powder to avoid sweat collection and apply calamine lotion at the sites of the lesion. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like clindamycin , oral anti fungal or anti bacterial depending upon the diagnosis .
