General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your husband's problem can be most likely due to pilonidal sinus infection if it is on the buttock fold. Taking proper antibiotic therapy and applying betadine ointment for local application will be helpful. Taking vitamin C supplements daily is also good. If there is no improvement then better to consult a general surgeon as surgical treatment ( pilonidal sinus excision) might be needed.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
