What Causes Recurrent Pain On Left Shoulder Radiating Towards Left Chest?
I have pain very often in my left shoulder blade area. Often a burning pain. I also gets pains in my left chest at times. I have been under a tremendous amount of emotional stress for about 4 months. Should I be concerned with anything more than stress related pain?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Stress can lead to pain anywhere in body, however, the shoulder and chest pain need to be investigated. Shoulder pain can occur due to musculoskeletal disorder. The concurrent chest pain can also occur due to musculoskeletal pain, pain pertaining to cardiac system or respiratory system. I suggest you to consult your physician to rule out musculoskeletal pain by clinical assessment. A clinical assessment of the cardiac system is also required to rule out any cardiac ailment by investigations like ECG, echocardiography, stress test etc. In addition, a X-chest is also recommended to look for kind of involvement of respiratory system. Disorders of pleura are also known to cause chest pain.
