What Causes Recurrent Nausea Along With Dark, Tarry Stools?

I have had debilitating nausea for almost a week. I have not been vomiting but just don t feel like eating anythig. Just toast, plain crackers, applesauce, white pudding, etc. Been taking Maalox, tums, and Nexium which was prescribed last summer after a negative endoscopy. Nausea had gone away after 3 weeks of Nexium, but suddenly returned a week ago. Today I had dark, tarry stool. I am concerned, as we away from home for the winter and don t have a doctor here.

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
Black stool is due to bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract. After reading your post, it seems that you might be having a bleeding ulcer in the gastrointestinal tract and needs urgent medical attention.
I would suggest that you should get yourself clinically examined and investigated by a medical professional. I would advise that you should take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with Domperidone 30mg. Antacid in gel or liquid form is also beneficial. Avoid spicy and oily foods. Also avoid being empty stomach for long periods.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
