What Causes Recurrent Fever Despite Giving ParaCTML To An Infant?
my 1 yr 4 mnths old baby hvng fever from last 4 days. also he has cold nd cough. my dr has given novamox 250 -3.5 ml thrice a day for 5 to 6 days; nd paractml 5 ml if fever s more than 100c. bt after giving paractml in above cndition fever goes for some tm/ hrs. after sm hr again he gets fever abv 100c. sm tms 101c to 102c. what should i do? And what if i give meftal? pls suggest.
* Adding meftal will not serve the issue to the curative path, it would be rather just suppression of fever only.
* Most important issue would be either drug resistance or organism not responding to Novamox.
Kindly discuss the issue with his pediatrician to change antibiotics or take basic lab test with complete blood counts with or without chest x-ray for further expert management to cure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
