What Causes Recurrent Cold And Cough?

I ve had runny nose and severe coughing for close to a month now. After the first 7 days, my PMP prescribed azythromycin, which seemed to help. 2 days after I completed the antibiotic, I fell ill again and the the post-nasal drip and incessant coughing resumed. All this time, I ve been taking 12-hr Sudafed and 12-hr Delsym cough suppressant to somehow get through the workday and to get some sleep. What do I have?

Emergency Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, it seems that you might be having allergic rhinitis.
I would advise that you should take an antihistamine like Levocetrizine 5 mg once a day along with the medicines you are taking. Steam inhalation will have added benefits.
A clinical evaluation by an ENT specialist will help in planning your further medical management.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Regards.
Thanks.
