Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurrent Boils On The Groin Area Despite Taking Humira?
I have recurring boils/ abscesses. I m on Humira for them (and my auto immune disease) but I have a bunch in my groin area that are extremely painful. I am 23 years old, and crying from this pain. I can t walk. I don t know if its worth it to go to the er. Please, I just need advice on what to do. I may have a fever, as well. I m sweating profusely.
Your symptoms seem to be related to hidradenitis suppurativa. Hidradenitis suppurativa is a skin disease which causes painful, boil-like lumps that form under the skin and often secrete pus and blood.
Antibiotics may be needed to treat this medical condition. I suggest to consult your doctor about this treatment because is under prescription.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
