What Causes Recurrent UTI?

I have been having a UTI off and on for the past 5 weeks or so. I am on my third bout of antibiotics and I m not sure if it s related or not but I developed a swollen vulva (no pain or discomfort) and my breasts, especially the nipple area, is sore and sensitive. I m wondering what this might be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I recommend that you take a pregnancy test. Your symptoms are suggestive of pregnancy and it is important to know if you are pregnant. Management of UTI and choice of antibiotics are very specific during pregnancy as you can only take pregnancy safe medications. Please take a home pregnancy test and follow-up with a gynecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
