What Causes Rectal Bleeding With Fever After Childbirth?

I delievered my baby 8 weeks ago almost 9 weeks. Today after I pooped I had drops of bright red blood come from my bottom. The poop wasn't hard but was soft which is normal for me. Yesterday I had a high fever that only lasted a few hours then went away completely leaving me feeling fine. I do not know if the two are connected but I am worried about the bleeding.

Hello,
The occurrence of bright red blood means it has originated near the outlet. Bleeding higher up would have altered color. Causes could be some infection, fissure, bleeding piles or a perineal tear that has reopened, which is very rare. You need to have a local exam, a stool test and if necessary, a speculum exam. Though the stool is generally soft, if some part of it is sharp, it may hurt the tender mucosa causing the bleeding. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
