Hello,
Vomitting causes a very acidic oral environment. This is harsh on your tissue and weakens enamel. If you brush aggressively, with improper techniques or too soon after acid exposure, you can abrade away the thin enamel close to the tooth junction. You can cause notches into your tooth structure. This can result in sensitive teeth which are more prone to decay. I suggest using fluoride rinses after a thorough brushing and flossing. Toothpaste for sensitive teeth can be used if you experience sensitivity.
Traumatized, inflamed tissue will easily receed causing root exposure. Practice good, gentle daily dental hygiene. See your dentist for professional cleanings and advice on your periodontal health. Grafts can be considered if you have large amounts of recession. Grinding your teeth can accelerate recession. If gums show recession, there is loss of bone underneath. This can cause tooth loss.
The initial stages of digestion can include chunkier vomit. Excessive Vomitting can do damage to your throat. Ulcers can develop.
Try to keep a balanced oral environment. Antacids such as Tums may be helpful. Probiotics are helpful to prevent gastric disturbances. See a digestive specialist if your symptoms persist.
Thank you for your inquiry.
