What Causes Random Blister Type Spots On The Arm?

hi my partner recently started getting random blister type spots on his arm but we didn't think nothing of it as we thought it might be the combination of friction and sweat as his work entails moving and carrying heavy boxes all day.recently i have started to get them myself.the first one i noticed was behind my ear a couple of days ago.then on my forearm a day later.last night i noticed i had one on the back of my leg and today on my elbow although mine are not looking like blisters they are raised bumps in my skin and quite hard. I have not changed my washing powder, detergent, soap body cream or anything like that and they are not painful, more irritable.do you have any idea what they could be?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history your partner is having polymorphic light eruption.

My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with spf more than 30.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like Fusiderm B cream.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
