What Causes Raised Red Area Like A Pimple On Lower Leg?

thank you...I have a raised red area about the size of an eraser on the end of a pencil that appeared on my lower leg about 2 weeks ago, thought it was a pimple at first, however it never came to a head. I have had squamous cell cancer removed on my arm before , however this is not as big, but wondering if I should be concerned. thanks you

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of raised red area like a pimple on lower leg which occurs occur when clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum ,dead skin and bacteria get infected. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with application of aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day as this is safe and natural extract of cereals. Avoid exposure to sunlight and keep areas clean and dry. Also drink 8-9 glasses of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet. Apply aloe vera gel to keep moist. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist once and get it examined. you an go for antibiotics ( clindamycin ) , corticosteroid ointment , hydroquinone , laser therapy and dermabrasion only after doctors prescription. Do not scratch pimples as they will get infected.
