Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear madam i can understand your concern
in my opinion the dose of lantus need to be increased further as lantus will give you only a basal support.
and there is an alternative and best approach also.
its called as basal bolus regimen.
in this regimen your doctor will give you two kinds of insulin one is lantus which is called as basal insulin or peakless insulin this is a very good kind of insulin but it can not control your sugar level after taking meal.
so for every meal you need to take a shot of short acting insulin called as novorapid which works for less than 3 hrs and bring your sugars under control.
i suggest you to consider meeting your doctor and take his advice on basal bolus regimine.
regards
