What Causes Radiating Pain In Arm And Elbow After A Nexplanon Implant?

Hey, I just got the nexplanon implant a week ago come to tomorrow and it has down my arm, toward my elbow. Is this normal? And should I get it checked? I wiggled it down, almost to where it was when I originally got it last week. However, I m still concerned. I go in for a check up soon; however, I need to know if it s something I should seek medical attention for immediately. Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

After the pain medication has worn off, your arm may ache a little where the implant was inserted, but it goes away quickly. You may have some tenderness or swelling around the implant for a few days and it may look bruised for a week or two.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
