What Causes Radiating Pain From Skull Side To Back Of Head?

Hi, 4 days ago I tripped over my own feet and hit the front of my face on the tiles. I had cut my inner top lip and bruised and slight nose bleed and cut on top of nose. Now the left base of skull is sore. I woke up yesterday morning with it hurting and headsche radiating at back of my head. Is this something to worry about or did i pull a muscle deep in my neck?

Emergency Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi. Is the pain to the left of the midline at the back of your head? If this is the case, then I think there is unlikely to be any significant injury and it should settle down by itself. If you have any other listed symptoms, then you should go to your nearest Emergency Department to get checked out: midline pain in your neck or restricted neck movements; loss of consciousness; dizziness; double/blurring vision; collapse; vomiting; persistent nasal discharge; bruising around the eyes or behind the ears.
