Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for prescription of pain killer. The pus needs to be sent for culture and drug sensitivity to identify the causative micro-organism. The swelling and pain can be due to gout. Clinical assessment and investigations are required for correct diagnosis.

Thanks and take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
