What Causes Pus Filled Skin Rashes In A Child?

1 week ago, my nephew had skin rashes which turned out like tiny bumps with pus and the doctor advised us to administer him an antibiotic for 3days with soap and shampoo. After a week, his rashes in the head were cleared but the rashes have started showing up in his arms and legs. Worst is, they spread and combine like a map. Doctor, please help! What do we need to do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi i do care for your concern.
Pus filled rashes over skin may be caused by staph bacteria.
You have mentioned the age.
since the rashes are spreading i would advise
To consult your physician and get blood work up done for WBC's CRP FBS PPBS and others.
Antibiotic such as amox metrogly along with antacid for a period of one week is recommended.
Use of antiseptic soap and maintaining adequate hygiene will add to the help.
Hope the condition resolves soon.
Hope i have answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask.
Thank you.
