What Causes Pulsing Pain In The Head?

I have a pulsing pain on the left side of my head somewhat above and behind my ear. The pain pulses in and then out and then their is a respite and it starts again. It has been going on for over 24 hours. I have no history of headaches of any kind. I went to a walk-in clinic and they said there was nothing they could do. Suggestions?

Thank you for choosing HCM

It seems that you have a headache. A headache occurs due to dilatation of the blood vessels in the head and this causes the pain. This is why you feel that there is a throbbing nature to the pain. Here are a few things that you can do:
Inhale steam mixed with Eucalyptus oil to clear the nasal passages
Drink lots of water
Sleep well and get at least 8 hours of sleep a day
Take a Paracetamol 500 when you feel you are about to get a headache
Eat meals at regular times

Follow up after 3 days. All the best. Wish you a quick recovery.
Hope this helps you
