What Causes Pruritus In The Pubic Area While On Doxycycline?
Hi, I have been on doxycycline for malaria prevention since June 20th. Left for the Dominican Republic on June 23rd. Started having pruritus in my pubic hair during the trip (I stay well trimmed) but no redness or anything. The itchiness progressed to my head and I found myself scratching me head and pubic hair (not genitals) a lot, especially at night. My husband checked my head for lice (negative) and the last two days my hands have started itching. Tonight my hands REALLY itch (palms mostly) and my arms and shoulders itch too. Earlier I had a massage (same masseuse monthly for years) and the nape of my neck and back of my head are so itchy I can hardly stand it! Could it be the doxycycline and should I discontinue it? Annabelle
