What Causes Protrusion Of The Rib Cage On The Left Side With Pain?
MY RIBCAGE ON MY LEFT SIDE ARE STICKING OUT TO THE POINT YOU CAN CUP THE LOWER RIBS IN YOUR HAND. THOSE LOWER RIBS BEGAN TO PROTRUDING OUT SIX MONTHS AGO AND EACH SEEM TO STICK OUT MORE AND MORE EACH WEEK. THE RIBS STICKING OUT ARE VERY PAINFUL. IT S IMPOSSIBLE TO GET COMFORTABLE NO MATTER IF STANDING, SITTING AND LAYING DOWN IS WORSE. MY SPINE COLLAPSED L3 THROUGH S1. . .MY INSURANCE DENIED SURGERY FOR BACK RECONSTRUCTION SIX TIMES. COULD THE SCOLIOSIS BE CAUSING THE MOVEMENT OF MY RIBCAGE?
If your rib cage is slightly uneven or protruding, it may be due to a muscle weakness. Your abdominal muscles play a large role in holding your rib cage in place. If your muscles on one side of your body are weaker, it may be causing one side of your rib cage to stick out or sit unevenly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Esmeralda Sera,
Oncologist
