General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Prolonged vaginal bleeding after sexual intercourse commonly occurs due to rough sex, tear or infections. It can occur due to vaginal dryness & any vaginal or cervical polyps or PID. Always use vaginal lubricants & vaginal moisturizers before sex. Go for prolonged foreplay before indulging into penetrative sex. Avoid use of fragrant feminine products. Avoid douching. Take care of your hygiene, avoid sex for a couple of days. Take vitamin E & omega 3 fatty acids. Get clinically examined, if its polyp get it removed. If there is tear, you may need some antibiotic. Get STD tests done to stay on the safer side if you have multiple partners.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
