Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I AM FEELING PAIN IN MY ANKLES FROM LAST 6 MONTHS......SOME ONE SUGGEST ME TO TEST URIC ACID. ,CALCIUM AND ESR. AFTER THE TEST I GOT THE FOLLOWING REPORT ESR=65MM/HR CALCIUM= 7.7MG AND URIC ACID=3.7MG/DL NOW PLEASE GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTION RELATED TO DISEASE AND TO CURE IT......
Hi. I've gone through your query and I can understand your anxiety.
Your lab test results shows high ESR level & normal uric acid & less calcium levels.
Normal Uric acid levels are 2.4-6.0 mg/dL(female) & 3.4-7.0 mg/dL (male). Serum calcium is between 8.6 to 10.3 mg/dL. These normal values might vary between labs.
So, prolonged ankle pain with elevated ESR might be due to recent infection or trauma, aging, pregnancy, polymyalgia rheumatica etc. I advice you to take
- NSAIDs like ibuprofen & naproxen - Corticosteroid therapy in order to reduce inflammation if any - Also take calcium & vitamin D3 tablets - Hot compress & rest
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
Regards, Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
