What Causes Prolonged Excessive Bleeding After A Total Hysterectomy?
I am 37 I had a total hysterectomy due to endometrial ca stage II, I started having heavy bleedin 5weeks after the sugery I went back to c my dr and he inserted a pad fllled with iodine and inserted it for about 30min into my vagina and the bleeding stop for about two weeks, but now am having a smelling dischage by d time I look at my vagina through the mirrow I saw a lot of mucus in d vagina pls I need a answer to this what could be the cause?

As per my clinical experience, the prolonged excessive bleeding with smelly discharge indicates possible issue of vaginal stump infection or inflammation with bacterial cause as gram positive staph aureus or others. It is best recommended to get a swab culture report of the discharge for microbiologic diagnosis and cure accordingly.
Till that time , following measures will help you:
- Drink more liquids to prevent secondary bacterial infection
- Avoid sexual intercourse if active
- Vaginal hygiene with antiseptic liquid or soap
- Cranberry sachet or pills
- Balanced nutritious diet to combat immunity at its best
- Control of blood sugar
