What Causes Problem In Hearing,cold And Cough?

My nephew who is 7 years old, have hearing problem when ever he suffering from cough and cold, doctor suspect that he is a down sandrom problem due to few more visual things. So we did the genetic test in that every thing comes normal then doctor suspect that his nose bone is quite big so he have such problem, so they operate the nose increased bone but still the problem is there when ever he suffer from cough and cold his ear drum got wet and he not able to listen the things. Now doctors are telling that we can not get rid from this problem. And they are also telling the we need to user the hearing machine when ever he faces such kind of issue. Please advice.

This may be from eustachian tube dysfunction. In recurring ear infections, sometimes we need grommet insertion. kindly discuss with your ENT specialist.
