What Causes Postpartum Shortness Of Breath?

I am nine weeks postpartum and although it s getting better, I get shortness of breath, like a can t get a full breath. It s the worst in the mornings. I ve also noticed that for the past few days I ve had a ton of clear mucus discharge. The pain in my left side is getting better too but still dull. I can t see my doctor until January (insurance issues) and was wondering if there was any explanation for it? I also have Sheehan s Syndrome.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
There are many causes for postpartum breathlessness.
The common causes are
1. Bronchitis
2. Pneumonia
3. Pleural effusion.
4. Pulmonary embolism
5. Postpartum cardiomyopathy.
6. Anaemia. Etc.
So better to consult doctor and get done chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) first. If this is normal than get done ECG and 2D Echo.
If this is also normal then rule out anemia.
Since you are having sheehan syndrome, pulmonary embolism can be a possibility.
So get done CT PULMONARY ANGIOGRAPHY.
