What Causes Post Operative Hernia After Pancreatoduodenectomy?

I have had the Whipple s Procedure in October 2015, within the last week have developed large post operative hernia. My GP stated he is not concerned, suggested swimming to re- strengthen the muscles. I have not been swimming for over 20 years. I am 80 years old

it can occur due to loose connectivity of incised scar.you may do any passive exercise to strengthen muscle union. avoid over straining the area or part,to strengthen the part metallic mesh may be given.
