What Causes Popping Noise In Eye After Blowing Nose?

I am 16 years old and a few years ago I blew my nose too hard and the inside corner of my right eye made a popping noise. Now whenever I press my finger against it it makes a squeaking noise and when I blow my nose I have to close my eyes or else it feels like my eye is going to pop out. Why did this happen? Is this a common problem and should I see a doctor about it?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of a sinus dysfunction or a lacrimal gland dysfunction. For this reason, I recommend consulting with your doctor for a physical exam and a sinus X-ray study. Anyway, considering the Covid pandemic, there is no urgency to consult with your doctor. It can wait a few months.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
