Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pins And Needle Like Sensations On Sole Of Foot Post ORIF Surgery?
I had ORIF done Nov18 and currently going through the therapy recover process, since yesterday my bottom of my foot burns like fire pins and all my toes are cramping with Charlie horses . Physician started me on foot soak yesterday and I ve done this twice today with no relief. Why is this burning so badly? Ice wrap does not ease brining and pain pills don t touch it
You have not mentioned where the ORIF was conducted, what devices (e.g. plate and screws) were used for the synthesis, this would have helped.
But in my opinion the procedure could have either damaged some blood vessel that is causing the symptom or impingement caused by the devices placed. Please consult your treating orthopedic surgeon who would know exactly where to look and how to correct it.
Best wishes.
