What Causes Pin Prick Sensations In The Left Eye?

I have pin prick pain in my left eye. It isn t really that painful, because the pin pricks are so small. They occur in multiple places in the eye and go away within a second or so. This has been going on for more than a day. The same things occurred almost 2 months ago and went away after a couple of days. I also can feel my eye and eye lid coming into contact with each other. This is unusual and is not happening with the other eye. It is almost as though the lid is getting caught on my eye ball. This is simply a sensation and is not visually apparent in the mirror. 6 years ago I had a corneal abrasion in the same eye and had recurrent abrasions upon waking for almost 2 years, but have not had any other issues since. A couple of months ago my opthamalogist told me he couldn t even tell I had ever had an abrasion. What is going on with me? I am freaked out about anything with my eyes!
